hi all,my names curt, and live nr worcester, just got my first lj80, since seeing the barry sheene one, i have wanted one, i purchased the one that was on ebay in the last week, sorry to any one bidding on it, i made him an offer which he took. i went for this one as the floors and bodywork look good, it has a lot of history with it being a one owner car with 30,000 miles on the clock, i have all the paper work from when he purchased it new in hong kong, it was last on the road in 91, comes with its hong kong reg doc as well and number plate, (CT 7460).
Iam more use to doing motorcycles than cars, have bikes from the 1930's up to the 1977 (suzuki gt750 ) so i think iam a little out of my depth when it comes to this type of car.
i intend to get it up to mot spec before doing any other works, that way i can try it out and sort out any issue's. first job is to get it to move as the brakes are stuck on, i take it thats the parking brake stuck as the cable is loose, i have put it on stands so i can get underneath, any tips to freeing off the brakes, looks like i will need some pullers to get the hubs off. cheers curt
