Gday all,
As you can see I am new to the forum.
Historically I am a Landcruiser Troop Carrier driver (Queensland Australia). Now I am back in the UK I am planning to buy a Jimny (recognised down under too). I expect to be using one off road for work (arborist-tree assessor on HV Powerlines) in Devon/Cornwall, I will also have assessment work (non utility) in London too (small car
).
Questions are how does the Jimny go with towing a trailer (DR650 my other love) and what is the ultimate set up for road smart/legal with reasonable clearance for off road.
I am open to buying a good rig off one of you guys, keen on a 2001 to 2004 model subject to further advice.
Cheers Cassian...

Hello mate welcome!
A lot of members of this forum are SJ owners but are all friendly and always willing to help. Both a member and on another forum called ww.bigjimny.com you might find the other forum a bit more help on Jimny's!
On the other hand I'm a jimny owner and they sound perfect for what you are describing with a few little mods and a good set of tires ground clearence is not an issue and I have also read plenty of blogs about people using them to tow caravans, camping trailer and like you bike trailers!

Hi
My son on law tows his gardening trailer with all his work gear and what ever he has picked up a d that can get quite heavy and a mate tows his caravan so your bike should be no problems. Both have 2 inch lift, heavy duty bumpers and a winch. One has a full cage and both behave well on road and are great off it
