Thanks for the help guys.

I striped them down earlier and both were just rusty and jammed. So i cleaned them off and greased them up as best i could. They did lock but now they wont unlock. So il have another go a them another day. At least i can take it off road now without getting stuck every 5 mins.

Just wondering......is it ok to drive round on tarmac when the hubs are locked? If so is there any need of them, could i just get rid of them and get some of those fixed hubs?

Yes you can drive with them locked in tramac, just in 2WD.

The only advantage of FWh is that you can unlock them to limp home if you damage the front axle.

the FWH are also supposed to help on mpg and noise as you are affectivly cutting out 1/2 the transmission.

to be honest I haven't noticed any difference now i have FWH compared to normal hubs! which (i think) are still sitting on a shelf if interested!

THEY WORK!!!!!!!!!!

Just finished playing with my hubs. Striped them right down, cleaned them, greased them, put them back together and they seem to work fine. Well chuffed. 8-)

Now i can move on to the more pressing matters. Like the huge rust holes that plague my bodywork.
