Fuel Filter Missing??

Hi.
So half way through the service on the SJ and I discovered that there is no Fuel Filter on it! instead there is just a little bit of pipe?
Anyone got any pics, or can tell me where the filter is meant to be?

the filter should be on the inside of the chassis rail on the drivers side just in front of the tank, sometimes people put a small in-line one just before the carb as well.

Nope! Checked there and no trace!! it would seem that ther was something there once, but now there is just a bit of pipe?

Cut the flex pipe and put an inline one in.

Think thats going to be the only solution, if you don't hear from me in the next few days it means it's all gone wrong and we have both gone up in flames!
