Re: Misfiring badly
Probably is Darrell, I'm not too clued up on Vit's. Being as I'm a hgv monkey  We used to check for excessive heat transfer in the same sort of way, although we used to use shock&unlock spray to rapidly cool the sensor. Probably not a good idea on a car though being as the part is plastic a...

Re: Misfiring badly
Hi, Camshaft position sensor determines which cylinder is firing to establish injector synchronisation and coil firing sequence in DIS systems Crankshaft position sensor sets ignition timing, supply's rpm signal and determines engine speed So what your saying is the vehicle misfires under load and w...

Re: Misfiring badly
Hi, Since you've had the vehicle plugged in I would guess you know which cylinder is missing p0301 is cyl 1 p0302 is cyl 2 and so on p0300 is multiple cylinders Start with the ignition system: check plugs for cracks, carbon and oil/fuel fouling - also check the color of the plugs white electrodes no...

Re: Blowing exhaust and I'm not a mechanic!
I've never had any luck with gun gum, always seems to harden then crumble away in a few days.
If it has split on an existing weld, either weld over it or as sheerwood said get a new pipe.
£55 on ebay

Re: KingPin shim
Cheers Dean, I've removed the pins and checked them against the specs on Haynes pro and the are within tolerance. And the bearings seem good Whoever had the vehicle before me had made up a single shim that is 3mm thick for the top and bottom pin :argh: Hopefully a new set of shim's will remove the p...

KingPin shim
Just finished replacing the front wheel bearings on my 410 this morning, but I have noticed there is excessive movement in my king pins, about 5mm movement
Just wondering whether you can purchase shim's for these, and if so anyone know where from?
If not I will make some up tonight
Cheers

Re: Tyres???
Cheers will have a look at the kumho's,
It's running a 2.0ltr v6 at the moment with a custom manifold and splitter, with a turbo mufler, but I can still hear the road noise over the engine :(
Unfortunately I don't have a stereo system yet, hopefully in the next couple of months I will get one

Re: New Jimny Owner. Kent
£285 isn't too bad, or put it on eBay as a project vehicle someone will snap it up I'm sure Haven't thought about keeping it as a small project? Do small bits at a time when you can afford them :) I would imagine it failed the emissions because the head has gone, best bet would be to do a wet and dr...
