How do the head lights behave normally? do they both work? full beam too? the earth is common to both lights so I don't think it will be an earth point playing up, to me it seems like the cable has broken or disconnected itself and is touching earth, if it was still connected you would have issues with both lights, is the low beam filaments ok on the drivers side?

OK so the plot thickens this what I have now
Ignition Off All Dipped/Main Beam and Flash work fine and OK
Ignition On And Engine Running Lights All Good.
Ignition On Lights Turned Off both headlights are on but Not as Bright as Dipped possibly 50% as bright turn lights on and seem fine.
Its 1986 so I think "Running Lights" arnt a option.
Cheers

I wired my fog light onto its own circuit even when the dim dip unit still worked. I have a feeling the same thing happened with the lights when mine packed up, worked ok when it came off the road then after the rebuild it went wrong
