Replacement body panels for a 1989 SJ413 3-door

Post by SJ Club 7 » Fri Dec 12, 2014 9:45 pm

I have just returned to SJ ownership after an absence of 15 years as I felt it was the most robust and reliable choice for visiting patents around Dartmoor.

I have recently bought a 1989 SJ413 JX 3-door estate finished in red and so far it is proving to be ideal for my job. I bought it about three weeks ago from Plymouth - it has spent its life living in Somerset and Devon under various owners - and the following weekend myself and a friend spent a whole day transforming flat faded pink paintwork into glorious shiny red with a nice lustre. A set of waterproof seat covers from Halfrauds together with plenty of rubber matting for the footwells and loadspace area turned the interior back into a functional driving environment.

Next year I may well need to replace the rusty front wings and complete repairs to the rear wings. Can someone advise me whether new replacement body panels for the SJ413 are still available from Suzuki (GB) Ltd, or is there a specialist supplier who can supply genuine OEM panels?

Likewise, can you still get the plastic gaskets that sit between the body panel and steel wheel arch, and also the black plastic sill trim covers with fixings?

Also, can someone recommend a good source for getting any period Suzuki SJ graphics in various designs?

Any advice on this, together with details of potential suppliers (hopefully one or two are based in the Westcountry), would be much appreciated.

Many thanks.
