Are they actually the same caliper but different manufacturers? The Lucas-Sumimoto's look like the Girlings to me.

On my ones the main caliper body looks like a spanish girling, and its takes the brake pads with the spring-things attached to them, but the bits that mount onto the caliper mount are nearly the same as the japanese ones... I'll take a pic next time I have a wheel off

right.. iv got a 1992 Spanish samurai. to me the callipers look like the Lucas-Sumimoto calliper. is this correct? if so where could i get hold of one? what else do they fit so i can give the factor something to go off?

Good to know, mate - there's another thread on here about GV callipers where that question came up yesterday, now we have an answer! Don't know if they take the same pistons, do you?

Doesn't really matter, I'm just curious. :D

It's likely to be lucas-girling. If it's sumimoto, it's probably been pulled off of a Jimny.
