Re: newbie in need of help!
Ya my eldest nipper and my folks live in Worthing so am over there most weekends. There are no lanes in West Sussex so slindon and box grove have to make up for it.
The vitara on fleabag has jump up to £770 so just out of my price range, that and the guy only thought he'd pull £650 in for it makes me think it's to much! Luckily there is a hard top that's just come up on gumtree in Brighton for £700 ovno and it has a longer test on it :-) hopefully going to see it today and will be driving it home

Yeah, there are a couple of lanes in East Sussex, I think - Twiss used to drive them (he lived in Worthing before moving to Malta) but East Sussex is also a bit of a trek for you.
Hope you find a decent Vit waiting for you in Brighton, mate. If not - ebay has a rep for being a really really crap place to sell vehicles - people bidding on them, then not turning up or even communicating, let alone paying - so wait for the ebay listing to end, and then send a message to the seller saying that if he has trouble with the buyer, you might be able to pull £650 out of a hat for him.
What's the worst that could happen?

Re: newbie in need of help!
Was always a fan of shrubbery!!
Well the vit in brighton was gone before I got there literally arrived as they were shaking hands, not the gentlemanly way to do business knowing I was in my way!! But got me train fare back :-) bright sides! Looked like a nice truck though.
And fleabay truck went for £800 probably could have got it if I went £801 but it was already more then I wanted to pay for a truck the needs work doing to it. Took your advice anton and messaged the guy asking for first refusal of the sale falls through.
Was hoping to have a vit by the end of the weekend but alas the search continues!!

That Vitara looks good externally wise and seeems a reasonable price at the moment, the trouble is as the auction get closer to closing the buyers start coming in,and with a budget that you have and what you are expecting can be poles apart.Of course you could stumble across a bargain one like i did last year,i bought a 98 2.0ltr V6 LWB for £700 without actually looking at it,but it turned out to be a little diamond, never let me down and with full service history and just come though with a another years MOT on it.
So yes bargains can be found, all i wanted was a work horse to carry all my hunting/fishing/shooting gear around with me,have been looking for a Grand Vit or a X7 in immaculate condition for my wife and i think i have finally found one a V6 manual X7 it is one of the last ones made with ultra low mileage but models like this of course do attract a higher premium price.
Good luck in your quest, its not impossible to find a decent motor but could take a little longer.

The fact he has put advertised on other sites, says to me he will sell without going to the end of the auction.
That's how I got mine. How much would you take, yep that sounds ok, here is a deposit! Job done.
A bummer for those bidding, but you've just experienced that.
