vitara transfer box
vitara transfer box
hi
can anyone tell me,is there gear mod you can do to a standard vitara transfer box that lowers the gearing down for purely off road use, i have seen a second transfer box mounted directing onto the output of the standard transfer box giving lower gearing and creating a"rock lobster" box
thanks
phil

Re: vitara transfer box
I'm not sure about different gears for a Vitara, but my mate fitted an SJ transfer box to the back of the Vitara one.
There is some info on it here.

It is very low ratio now. I know because I've followed him, and I can't go SO slow.

Re: vitara transfer box
I don't know who would sell them in the UK, maybe Rob Storr. The big US vendors all sell them, Calmini, Trail Tough, LROR. You need to search for Suzuki Sidekick or Geo Tracker which is what the Vitara was called over there.
