Wheel size

Post by 1066 Boy » Sat Feb 21, 2015 5:47 pm

Hi all. Sorry if this has been covered before but i am a bit confused. :er:

I have had a look at the tyre size thread. Its very good by the way. :D
The problem i have is on the chart rim size is mention in inches for the width.
When i look at wheel sizes, the width is quoted in " j" :S

Is 7j the same as 7" or is the a chart to show whats what :?:

Sorry if i am being a bit thick, just dont want to make an expensive mistake.
Thanks in advance Allan (1066 Boy)

I think "jj" means "inches plus a half" - so 7J is 7 inch, 7JJ would be 7.5 inch, 8J is 8 inch, 8JJ is 8.5 inch. I *think*.

Yeah, I was just goggling that, and apparently J and JJ are slightly different rim lip types. Nice link, Scottie, very informative!
