Is the mechanical fuel pump the same on a 410 and 413? Piglet 5 needs a new one....dammit!

Erm - wish I knew! What's happening with all the bits breaking on your piglets? Brakes, fuel pumps... How many piglets are running around happy right now?

Well Piglet 3 plods on in her usual reliable manner. 6 is being fixed tomorrow. 5 starts if I squirt brake cleaner down the carb..she ain't sucking up enough juice. A 413 fuel pump is on ebay new for £28 but a 410 is rare or beyond expensive. £100+ for some reason but they look the same to me. Always something breaking down here...

410 pumps are driven directly off the Cam and 413/vit are driven off a pushrod as far as iirc, I'm not sure if they are interchangeable, even some of the 1.3 and 1.6 ones don't swap over because the plunger arms are different heights.

I get lost and can't remember which piglet is which some F8/F10 fuel pumps can be rebuilt.

I might have a spare pump, I will check and throw it in your box of bits Alex. (i'm actually mobile again now so you will get it asap. )

Any reason why you could not use a electric fuel pump ??? if the original mechanical is not only hard to locate but also expensive then a electric pump could be located for a cheaper price and do the same thing.

Of course just a suggest,but more than likely i am talking i am a load of cr@p

why not electric fuel pump, just installed it yesterday on my 1.6 8v carb engine and it works like a charm. And you don't need pressure regulator.

Why faff around with that when I can just bolt one in? And I'd like to keep the engine as original as possible too!
