Funny noise when driving

Post by Sirocksdude » Mon Mar 02, 2015 1:05 pm

So I'm a bit of a cabbage when it comes to mechanics so need some help please. When im driving there is a noise that sounds quite similar to jingling coins, sounds like it's coming from under front end. Any ideas what it could be. Sammy seems to be running sweet but if it's anything that could get worse would rather sort now. Thanks

Is there any wobbling or vibrations when driving? or is it just a noise?

Have you checked your pockets for loose change?

:hahaha: :hahaha:

Check all the prop UJs underneath and for anything that could be loose, exhaust mounts/joints etc.

Was just about to say that Jordi, mine used to rattle around, then it go bashed around a bit and tightened itself up.

Could be the flywheel bolts, they make a funny rattling sound when not done up tight enough! (or so I hear)

My front propshaft made a noise a bit like loose change when the UJ got worn. New UJ and it was fine - the rear made a clicking sound before I changed it, so I think they can make a variety of noises depending on just how they're dying.

Grab your front propshaft and give it a wiggle, if it's sloppy then that's likely to be the culprit.

Thanks everyone, will have a gander and see what I find. For some reason I reckon it could be front prop as mentioned had one fitted a while back and the mechanic that did it was a bit of a joke

try removing the wife/gf/ mother inlaw from under the car, they like to be inside sometimes.
