I have a 2000 GV diesel. Was thinking of greasing the wheel bearings , as I am sure grease is shot after 15 years.
Do I need that special Suzuki bearing tool to dismantle or is there some alternative method of doing it ?
Thanks

Re: wheel bearing
If you don't mind me asking, but if you're going to the trouble of dismantling your front axle, why not replace the bearings? After 15 years, they probably won't have a great deal of life left in them, and they're not that expensive.
Saves you having to do it all again a couple of years from now...

Re: wheel bearing
I would leave them alone...
You need a special tool to remove the hub nut and then the bearing is a sealed unit (1999-2000).
Same tool is needed for the 2000 onwards ,but the hub is the bearing, so needs replacing as a unit when required. It is open on the nut side but you won't get much grease in it.
Yours should be the early type anyway
Diagrams of course.........

Re: wheel bearing
That looks all to familiar...it is a bastard of a job but if they aren't an issue leave them alone. If they are fubar then it's a blow torch and lots of swearing.
If it ticks over...leave it
