G13B engine rebuild

Post by mk1joe » Mon Mar 16, 2015 7:38 pm

Hi guys,
Currently rebuilding a G13B engine, its from a swift GTI and will be fitting to my samurai eventually. I have put up a post on one of the swift GTI forums but there doesn't seem to be much activity going on there, so I wondered if anyone here would be able to help me?

So far I have sent the crank away to be ground and oversized bearings ordered. I measured the bores today and found them to be oval at the top by 5 thou. is that a lot? is there anywhere I can find the tolerances for this engine?

Thank you

Joe

Nice one!

I know didly squat about tolerances, really. But I'd love a G13b head on a G16 block. If your block is buggered, and you need to replace it, maybe think about either swapping your internals into a G13a or G13ba block, or getting a G16 bottom end for more torque.

I have heard of making a G16B engine. I think you gain a bit of torque but sacrifice the high revs. I don't intend to do much off roading so I want to make it fast:)

and Darrel, that does look like the correct model. does it have much technical data for the engine in?

That looks extremely useful! If you could post it to me that would be fantastic. What's the easiest way for you to post it to me?

It's too large a file to email, I shall try my mediafire account..
Give me a while ;)

If I remember rightly It's a hard manual to come across.

Darrel - seriously, no messing about with jokes about having wiring diagrams for UFO's and haynes manuals for washing machines, but do you have a manual for *everything* or what?

I got my brother one of these when he first got a sprog:

I bet you even have a copy of that tucked away somewhere, right?

Seriously, never leave the forum! You Sir, are a proper gem!

Lots of manuals I've never managed to find, but my Suzuki collection is coming on quite well.
What with pics, manuals and diagrams, I now have 4.17GB of info !!
Whenever somebody wants a manual I just try to find it..
I found in them in the most obscure of websites and some have literally taken hours of searching.

Still here the Swift GTI supplement if anybody wants it, but be quick I'll not leave it there long :D
