My son and me restored a '62 Karmann Ghia last year and this weekend I heard it has found it's way to Malta!! Seems every VW we restore ends up going abroad...
Anyway...maybe you will see this car around as the colour, Lavender, makes it stand out. I guess any Karmann Ghia will stand out...

I love Karmann Ghias! One day I'll own one! Doubt it with the prices they are going for nowadays though

They are introducing a weekend and bank holiday road tax so newly imported cars are cheaper to run... registering my samurai here for normal use would cost just over €1000/year in road tax

A friend told me that classic cars can only be used on weekends . Hope it's not true. I work in catering and I do not remember my last weekend off.
Do you have any more info on this?

I can't remember where I found it but I think it mostly applied to newly imported cars, but you can get it for older maltese registered cars as an option to make the license cheaper.
