Further information about your old Suzuki,

Post by Tramp » Thu Nov 19, 2015 11:06 pm

So I found this on another forum I visit, you can apply to the DVLA to find out what history they have about your old car.

- You download a v888 from the DVLA website,
- https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... -a-vehicle
- you print it out, fill it in and send it off with £5 cheque
- The DVLA send you copies of the documents they have on file,

I sent off for info on my SJ around a month ago, & today my pack arrived, it has a list of previous owners, copies of old v5's/logbooks (with signatures blanked) and a copy of the original registration certificate (the one they used when they first registered it) most v5's have milage on so its worth doing if you want to confirm the milage is correct, also that first registration document should have the garages name when the car was sold. In my case 'Norfolk Motor Company' Sprowston Road, Norwich, not vital but certainly interesting! The only moan is that some documents look to be copies of copies so are almost illegible, but what can you do? To me £5 well spent!

I'm going to do this. It's like a lazy man's archaeology expedition of your vehicle or something.

I've always wanted this info - there was a website you could go to and get this info digitally, but they shut it down.

You can still get MOT history (only goes back to about 2006 I think) here and you can get current MOT/Tax/SORN status here (also has some other minor info such as CO2 emissions if available).

Nice to see you look after the Zuki :hahaha:

Mine history is pretty good, but then I actually check my vehicle over before it goes in and fix anything that might fail ;)
