Re: the no dosh LJ revamp
What the f...hopped in the LJ this morning and click click. I thought I'd fixed this. Checked all the wiring I installed, and the fuse, all good. Volts reading 12 before I turn the key. Arses. Went off in the Vitara (think I might be keeping this now for obvious reasons). Got home, tried the LJ again for the hell of it...click click. Turned on the lights to make sure the thing had some battery power and they were fine. Turned lights off. Turned key and she started. HUH?

Re: the no dosh LJ revamp
Ah common problem with the LJ's, what you have going on here is a simple overlap between your LJ's dimensional timeline and that of one where the car starts straight away (i have added a photo to help you understand), however because there is an infinite number of dimensional timelines converging all at once luckily for you one contained you turning off your lights before turning the key and it was at this moment that your two timelines became parallel and so when you turned the key for the final time she started the most common fix for this issue if it reoccurs is to call the ghost busters and ask them to cross streams.

Re: the no dosh LJ revamp
So...I took the battery out of the LJ and tried it in the Vitara. Same volts when ignition is turned on, reads the same when the engine is running too (see pics). Means the battery is fine then. So is the starter motor. So is my clicky fix. I am stumped. I'll put the battery back in the LJ tomorrow but I will clean the terminals and add some paper foil too (why not?). If and when it just goes 'click' on me again I'll call out the AA. Sod it.

And that's what I did...apart from call the AA. Sunny day today, so I jumped in and the old girl fired right up. So far so good. Got to work, she sat there for hours, jumped back in and she fired up again. I have no idea if I've actually fixed anything but lets hope this lasts!

Re: the no dosh LJ revamp
It didn't. Parked outside the bank, hopped in and nothing. Not even a click. Called the AA (they arrived in 20 minutes which amazed me), matey taps the starter as I turn the key and she fires into life. He had a good look around and said even though the starter is new he thinks it's faulty. As it is only 6 months old and has a years warranty I'm sending it back.

Right.
The re conditioned starter has been re re conditioned and I bolted it in today. And she fired straight up! Wanted a test drive but the MOT expired (I seem to be doing this a lot lol) so I'll get her booked in and then see if she behaves herself...

She started...and got there...and passed. Then started again, got me to work. Then started again and got me home!
