Sj club truck wiring

Post by hamishh » Sat Jan 07, 2017 8:20 pm

Hi from nz fellas, quick question... im dropping a 8valve 1600 into my 412 for a club truck, its a carb engine. Im not planning on having a dash board just coulpe gauges for charge water temp and pil presure. I wanr the most minimal wiring i can have to keep things simple. It does not have light or any thing so im wondering what i can do away with? I know i need starting circut which i will do on a switch and push button. Best way to do charging circut? Anything else really i need?
Thanks guys

All you really need from the charging circuit is the lead to the battery + terminal, and a 12v feed to the exciter circuit (the small alternator wire)
The engine also needs + and - wires going to the coil. Apart from starting I think thats about it?
