Damn Transponder

Post by Dave09 » Fri Jan 13, 2017 4:10 pm

2004 GV 2 ltr. I have only one transponder key, and have costed having a spare one programmed, £120 upwards, but do I really need that level of security ?. At the end of the day its a 13 year old truck, who the hell would want nick that, it aint a Ferrari. Its garaged and secure 99% of the time. have any of you guys got around this?. I am more than happy to live with the old system lock door, unlock door, ignition on and start up. Dont get me wrong, the security of your truck is important, but at times feel overkill is in force. And. a belated A Happy 2017 to you all.

Problem is the key needs to be programmed/chipped so as to keep the immobilizer happy.
