Auxillary power socket

Leccy really isn't my thing, but I'd like to know how to wire an extra 12v outlet into my SJ, can I just piggy back the wires on the cig lighter or would there be a better way, just want a spare socket for mini compressor etc. in the back. Do I need to use a relay or fuse it etc.

I would just wire it in parallel to the existing cigarette lighter. It will be fine, no need for a fuse as that circuit is already fused
