I have taken the fuel tank to be pressure tested and if needs be coated.

Just contemplating rear lights. To keep it nice and tidy i am very tempted to copy Scottie and get some original SJ lights and recess them into the bumper, the same as he has done into the tailgate.

That, my friend, is properly cool. Looks like a Ducati trellis frame. Love it.

Cheers chaps, made some cracking progress this week.

Had a busy weekend so no more progress. Just deciding on which lights to fit and where / how.

Also looking at permanently fitting two SJ cams (knock off Go Pros). Found what i think is a waterproof case that you can charge in too. Just waiting for it to be delivered. Then i can have them permanently fixed and wired in. One forwards and one backwards.

Got loads of paint waiting for it. Need to get a few more consumable, grinding discs, abrasive pads etc.... to clean it all up, old stuff and new ready for paint.

Be the usual on the paint too, good coat of zinc primer and tractol machinery paint over the top. Might event get round to opening that tin of red paint.

Just had the call from the fuel tank people. Much to my amazement my home made tank has passed its pressure test, shot blasted and coated.

Very happy with that, had a terrible feeling as soon as it was pressurised it was just going to split at the seams.

Get that collected and soon as all the welding on the back end is done i can fit it, put some fuel in it and move onto getting it serviced and MOTd!

Little bit more done, finished the welding. Coat of primer and black gloss on the fuel tank.

I couldn’t decide what to do, or where to put the lights. I looked at new lights and couldn’t find any i liked, or that fit where i wanted them. So i’m just fitting the lights i already have for now (or the next 10yrs maybe).

Number plate is going to be located in the spare wheel, cut the corners for a better fit, light is mounted to it.

Because it was so cold i left the tank above a heater to warm up before painting. I also had to leave the aerosol in front of a heater too, due to the cold the propellant must have contracted and it had lost all of its pressure.

Made a start on some weld-on shackle points made from 50x25x3mm box. 19mm hole and a 3 3/4t shackle.
