G Vitara Cambelt change (G16B engine) - easy ??

Post by maxaret » Wed Apr 01, 2020 8:23 pm

Hi we have an early 05 Grand Vitara 1.6 auto (G16B) and I was just wondering how easy the cambelt is to replace.
It is a north/south engine so should have better/more access than on a FWD car.
Also is there anything else needs doing at the same time ??
I have done a few cambelts in the past but am cautious about the jobs I tackle these days at the age of 67 and with bad back/knees etc etc

cheers/rgds max

It's Really easy to do the cambelt on the Gseries engines, if you've done them on other engines then you'll find it a breeze
