Indicator Relay

Post by border » Sat Oct 24, 2020 8:00 pm

SJ 410. Indicators dont work at all, after reading other posts might be Relay, mines looks to be an after market one, pulled the wires out by mistake and dont know which way the bloody things go back, Im hopeless at Electrics.
Think I need the correct 3 pin relay .
Will a Universal 3 pin be OK ? or would it have to be the correct part for Saxuki SJ ?
Also only got lights on passenger side too, nothing on drivers side,
Thanks

I am no great electrician either, but I do have an SJ 410 (1987) which may still have the indicator unit and right connector on it. I will have a look tomorrow in the daylight.

As for the lights going out on one side ...... that may need comment from a Suzuki expert.

Is your SJ Spanish or Jap? If it’s Spanish is the bottom right screw in the fuse board fitted and tight? The flasher relay earths through that screw so if it’s not fitted then the indicators won’t work.

Also check all fuses, Some Sjs are fused separately for each side.

Check all earth wires as well.

Thanks Mate, Its Jap, managed to borrow a relay as Lundigee has kindly offered to send me one. plugged it in and they worked straight away, I so pleased about that.
