After market alloys

Post by Haglis1108 » Mon Apr 15, 2024 9:14 pm

I have a 2009 GV 1.9 DDiS with standard 17 inch alloys.

There is a set of 19 inch Antera alloys from a Vitara, unknown 3 door model with a pic below available locally for £250.

I would like to know if these would fit mine and what mods I might need if any, spacers etc ?

Any advice is appreciated

Hi George
I would say you are better off staying with the 17'' wheels, because I assume (rightly or wrongly) you would end up with lower profile 'rubber band' tyres with 19'' wheels ?
Higher profile tyres cope better with potholed/uneven road surfaces and the occasional off road excursion and also lower profile tyres are more prone to sidewall and wheel rim damage due to potholes etc.

Hi George
Both our cars (2005 GV and 2008 Sportage) have 16'' wheels - I would not dream of changing them because they give that extra protection against our wonderful potholed roads - we do still try to avoid the worst of them - sometimes 'slaloming' along the road - but obviously one cannot always do that - the road through Glencoe is often too busy
