Ignition connection wiring

Post by tomcat » Wed Jul 16, 2025 6:49 am

Assistance required please!!
I am confused as to the best way to wire-in ignition controlled accessories on my '91 Santana Samurai.
Can anyone offer a solution to this situation. Any comments, advice greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Any black-white tracer is ignition live.
So you can use that as a trigger feed for a relay.

Or use the white-black feed for the stereo as that is switched live with the key in accessory position or ignition on. Use it to power the accessory or as a trigger for a relay.
I’d advise the use of a relay for most things though as the factory power supply to the stereo isn’t great.
