Mk 2 Golf.. help please

I think the big bumpers came out in 1990. I had a 16v which was a awesome car, but i think the 8v is the more popular choise. Its not as fast but has a realy torquey engine. I think you will be shocked how well it handles for a front wheel drive, and they tend to tripod when you corner at speed .

One simple mod that is worth doing is getting a weighted gear linkage from a mk3 golf. Take about 2 minutes to put on and will make the gear change feel much smoother

I think the optionals were things like front fogs, recaro seats, alloys and other trim options.

All I can say is I love mine. it's not the tidiest in the world and it's pretty much stock but It's a daily hack!

mine's a 90spec with big bumpers and the 8V digifant engine, goes pretty well

Just look out for rust in the door shuts (above the hinges etc.), behind the bumpers and trim, around the battery tray.
