Simple question..

Hi guys! I just wondering about how much we love to our's SJ..

I think that keeping the SJ for many years is a proof about how much that we love to these big toys aren't we?

And for that thought I just ask you with this simple question..
.."how long do you have or with your SJ?"

I think your right I have had the same SJ410 for over 10 years now. In that time I have brought and sold many different cars including a Vitara but my SJ has never been close to going. Mind you its been through some changes

I've had mine for 4 years, only been driving for 3, but it has been off the road for a year!

I've had mine now for 18 years , had many people asking me if i wanted to sell it, but they all get the same answer, 'No Feffing Chance of me selling it'.

wow.. that is a long time to be in love with your sj dominic..
myself had my own sj since 1997, it's a secondhand, a used car..
more long a year than srcar's zook..

from beginning the zook came and had worst conditions after that
finaly into a neat look these days.. more make me love to my zook..

but you know what, once a long time before i meet you guys i ever thought that i was
the only crazy one in love with these rusty iron..
.. but you already knew.. i'm not the only one....

by the way, is it only dominic the older zook in member? is there anyone else?
come on guys.. show up your proud.. it can be a record that maybe will add onto

dcas ive always wonderedabout these 2wd sj's, how does it work underneath? does it just have one long propshaft from the gearbox to the back wheels, or does it go through a reduction gearbox in the space where a transfer box was,
Also the front axle/steering, obviously it isnt driven so is it still a beam type axle or is the front independent? finally does it use leaf springs or is it coil sprung?

I've had mine for about 3-4 yrs but its only been on the road for about a year and a half, would never think of getting rid of it tho as its pretty solid and it just wouldn't be worth selling it with the amount of work & money that has gone into it!

However it is going to evolve

for 2wd's differential gear only have one propshaft through a reduction gearbox i guess..
but what do you think?.. for detail maybe i'll take for more pics tomorrow

oyea.. i've planned to adopt front LJ80's differential gear to make it 4x4
in future..

wow thanks for taking them!,
looks like your right, it seems to have a drumbrake on the intermediate/transfer gearbox which was used on the earlier sj's. so it must go through one, have you fitted the anti roll bar on the rear axle? it certainly is interesting when we only have the 4wd version over here! couldn't you use maruti gypsy parts to make it 4wd? i think the LJ range have smaller holes in the prop flanges, which would need drilling to mate them up to the sj bits, also if you use an lj80 front axle, im not sure if the reduction ratio would be the same, you would probably need to change the front one and the back one so they match, all the steering linkages look the same as the sj assembaly
