hi there i have recently brought a 1.6 vitars jlx l reg. i have put a 2 & quarter lift on and big tyres. my front drive shaft gators split so i changed the gator witch involed taking the shaft out . fitted it back in and went out the nextday and tried to pull my friends sj out a hole and lost 4x4 turn out my drive shafts slighty popped out the diff and i cannot get the thing back in now. can anybody help me. thanks. brad.

You'll more than likely need to take the shaft out again to get it to slip back in. Undo the two strut bolts, Anti-roll bar if fitted, pull hub away, maybe even undo the bottom ball joint if needed?

Vitara front shafts don't really like more than 1.5" lift unless you fit some diff drop brackets, I would recommend fitting some to avoid this happening repeatedly.

also another note

the drivers side shaft should have a retaining clip on the end, is this missing?

Thank you. yes the retaining clip is still there would damage to it be a possible problen i never had this problem until i changed the gator. Thanks brad.

i presume you have front strut spacers fitted but what size are they ???

2 and a half inch strut spacers. And also gt adjustable camber. ..

2 & half inch spacers on the struts is alot i hope you have diff drop brackets fitted as well if not i would say thats your problem

how much have you lifted the springs ???

the springs are 2 inchish i gt the spacers made for me at my work due to payin 90 quid for just inch and three quarter lift was bit much on the web for my likeing. i ave been lookin at dropping the diff a bit but aint had alot of time reli. had it lifted for about three months and been on a few mud plunging conqeasts. its only happened since i took the shaft out on saturday.
