I have been busy

Post by Team Pink » Tue Feb 21, 2012 8:27 pm

Not on the racer, started a project with my boys at the weekend.

Looking to get a Raspberry pi when they are available as well.

Base spec
core I5 2500K
8Gb memory
1Tb hard disc (ATM)
Fractal R3 case

Designed to be as quiet as possible and to draw as little power as pos for the spec.

Deciding on a graphics card at the moment. Thinking of something cheapish (£70) and then add another later in crossfire mode
Question for you computer types. Is it better to spend say 140 on a single card or 2 x 70 and link the two cards?

Single card is best.

You will never get more than 70% of the performance of each of the 2 cards linked together.

Most of the time its more like 50%

I really wish 2 cards equalled 200% power but it doesn't :(

Looks like a copy of my machine :D

Just a couple of tips:

turn your heatsink around so the heat is pushed towards the rear fan.

your hard disk looks like its mounted upside down.

Enjoy your new machine!
