Offroad newbie sayin hi and after a bit of advice lol

Hi all I have just been introduced into the joys of 4x4 fun,

I have a 410 that I am in the process of turnin into a tray back due to the dreaded rust bug lol.
I'm looking at the suspension side of things at the moment, currently it has extended shackles fitted but the front leafs are looking a bit flat.

I'm on a bit of a budget so was looking at going down the add a leaf route, so it raises a few questions
What other bits will I have to change eg brake lines, spacers etc.

All advice greatly appreciated cheers

Hi and

If the shackles were fitted by someone who cares then the brake hoses and shocks may have already been swapped for longer ones.

Chances are they havent tho!

Basically you will need longer shocks to suit and longer brake hoses depending how much lift the add a leafs end up giving.

Cheers for the info I'll have a look around any advice wheres good and pretty cheep. Jimmy bits is just down the road from me so think they will be my first port of call.

Ive never shopped for add a leafs so wouldnt have a clue.

Im sure someone will be along soon enough.

Another cheap option is to use the rear springs on the front and find some bedford rascal springs to use on the rear.

David at www.llama4x4.co.uk sells add a leaf for £42.50 a pair and also does brake hoses made to measure.. I've got his hoses on mine and I'm very happy with them and his service.Hope this helps.

Personally id give the add a leaf a miss and look into fitting the rear springs up front and then some Bedford rascal springs on the rear, will give you same lift but a softer ride and more articulation.

Is there any fabrication needed for the rascal conversion and one of my leafs on the rear is slightly bent will it suffice or is it worth changing it while it's off.
