My dad and I are motoring on with this now.

Engine is in and running with a janspeed manifold fitted, its also had a new clutch, ignition coil, battery and the carb has been completely stripped and cleaned. Also fitted the heavy duty fuel tank guard as I'm not using it on mine now and my dads bought som led rear lights.

Id say I've got about 70% of the welding done as well so will take some pics on monday when hopefully i'll have it all done.

This one has been sat in a field for at least 5 years so that might have something to do with it

And the body is only made with old baked bean tins :D
Never seen a rotten chassis yet though

Well as usual the more rot you repair the more you find :argh:

been busy though, everything has just had a rough coat of primer slapped on for the moment, will filler and tidy up everything when it comes to paint it, just want to get all the welding out of the way at the moment. My dad does want to do a bit of offroading and RTVs in it now so we decided to not spend ages getting the bodywork perfect as it will probably end up getting dented.

a few pics

Still more to come, had to weld the entire length of the wheel arch and then found another large patch of rot to cut out.

A few more repair pics, this has turned out to be one rotten :suzuki:

Had to weld up both rear arches like this all the way around

Repairing the drivers side rear arch, much the same treatment as the N/S but even worse

Now the only bit of welding left is around the O/S rear corner and fuel filler in the boot.

not a huge amount of mechanics left to do so it should be MOT time soon :doublethumbs:

I think :hmm: that's all the major repair work finished now, shouldn't be too long before it's ready for an MOT :doublethumbs:

Thanks Steve

And yes as far as I'm aware all santanas do have 5 speed gearboxes

A bit more done this weekend.

Built a new front bumper for it, just something nice and simple.

Also fitted rear discs with a Muddyzook kit and some of their H/D split bearing retainers.

I could be wrong but I did think all santana's had the 5speed box, wth all vehicles of this age things are often changed and the 5speed boxes are harder to find than the 4speed so that could be why it ended up with a 4speed????

Thanks for the compliments :doublethumbs:
