Clutch change

I'm having a tough time of changing my clutch.
1. Is there a specific technique to getting the bering ofg the clutch fork?
2. How do you take the fly wheel off as I can't stop it spinning?

i can answer the second question i think the only way to take of a fly wheel is to use a rattle gun/impact gun , thats the way i only know

Get someone to hold a 17mm on the opposite end of the crank at the pulley.

Also pick a bolt where the ratchet pushes down towards the center of the flywheel rather than the outside which will reduce the turning force you apply to it.

The release bearing just needs some wiggleing/twisting/pulling of the bearing and the arm at the same time. It needs to move towards the left to get it off the pin on the fork.

Can I ask why you are taking the flywheel off?

I guess to swap for 1.3 as he is doing 1.6 conversion at the moment

Spot on dan. Didn't think of doing that. I've given up for the night so I'll give it ago tomorrow.
Got another problem now. I'm trying to remove the captive bolts on the gearbox to fit the 1.6 adapter plate. The instructions from off road armoury suggest twisting them off with mole grips but they wont budge. Any tips on getting them out.
By the way I got the baring off.

I've done it twice with mole grips. The first set I did were OK and came out without much effort.

My 2nd box which I was cleaning up last night to have as a spare needed some large mole grips adjusting to the point where super human strength was required to clamp them on.

Maybe a good few doses of wd40 will help so by the time you get back to it tomorrow you might be OK!

If you're having trouble with the flywheel bolts, as said get someone on the other end with a 17mm socket/spanner or if by yourself try and wedge it against the ground or something solid and give the flywheel bolts a short, sharp tug to crack them off
