Post by kiwizook » Fri Jan 11, 2013 4:39 am

i just bought a su carb, model unknown.
it has a bore size of 1 1/4"
top of damper pot says auc8103
tag reads aud363
other numbers on there are:
auc82 near the manifold side
bs 2 near the filter side
po2475A also near the filter side

Also, can i use this on my F10A engine?

I see that you found more info than me. I tried googling it, but only found sites that had outdated links, so got nowhere. This info is a good start, so thanks alot kibris

Normally we use HIF38 on the 970, I.e. 38mm bore but I'm sure that will work ok, could you pop up a photo of the carb so we can see if its an integral float chamber (hif) model or not as those ones are the better ones for an offroader. I can't imagine the jetting will be far off If its off a 998 mini.

Thats a bit small for the 410. You need the 1.5 inch HIF carb. Guess it is a HS2 or similar.

Thanks a lot darell, you're a true star :doublethumbs: :D
so it's a hs2, as darell established for me.
So does anyone know what conections go where? I can't work out where the throtle cable has to go, and it seems to have no return spring. is this normal? any explanation about this carb will be welcome

Does that float bowl swivel? If not I dont know how well it will cope offroad as the bowl will only be half full at that angle as it is designed to go on a inclined manifold and it will be sat level. (maybe it will be OK. Hard to judge from a sofa on the opposite side of the world!)

Big pipe in 1st photo looks like crank case breather, In 2nd photo right hand will be fuel in, small one on left will be vacuum advance.

Guess there must be an overflow for the float bowl somewhere but cant see one.

From the looks or Darrell's exploded diagram the bowl can be swivelled.

it appears to have a litlle tab holding it in place. I will try now to loosen it, and see if it swivels. i'll let you know in 5 minutes
