Dan and Scotties Snowff Roading day on the Marlborough downs

Post by dan_2k_uk » Sun Jan 20, 2013 12:50 am

The "Snow!" thread was getting a bit full so I decided to post this on its own.

Went out for most of today. All round the Ridgeway area near Marlborough. There were plenty of deep drifts and both of us managed to get stuck. Unfortunately for me we had just recovered a LR90 we came across and he was then following me when I decided to try plough through a deep drift so some pointing and laughing was had by all as I shamefully hooked up my Zook to him!

If you Squint a bit it actually looks like I am towing him though. :D

Met some randoms in a Vit (who might identify themselves here later) and Had Matt in his Taro and a Mate from work who isn't on the forum with us in his Sammy too.

Cheers mate. Its great to be out using them. Especially when we get weather like this. When the weather perks up I need to fit a snorkle which I have in bits ready and finally make my front bumper but at the moment I just wanna enjoy it.

Was an awesome day did some fun lanes eventhough at points you couldn't tell where the actual track was  then again the snow makes any lane even tame ones fun. Nice pics Dan, here's mine.

Looks like some deep ass snow Scottie.

Took mine for a blast earlier to check my carb icing mod. Despite all the warnings we still only have a dusting. It's been good seeing quite a few off roading pics going up recently. Everybody seems to have been out at some point recently.

Wish i had some lanes nearer so i could just go and mess about.

Went back out today and my passenger got a video from today of me being first ploughing through a massive frozen puddle.

Will try get it. Sounds like a bottle bank being emptied!
