I bet having dinner at your place is a treat at time.

"No clean cups Dan?"

"Nah, but there is a piston in the dishwasher, just flip it up side down"

So cute!!
 Yeah man they are brilliant little engines, it's a shame the G-series doesn't seem to handle the same sort of abuse

Did you decide to completely rebuild the head?

Trying to find somewhere to get it skimmed tomorrow so yeah.

Its was just about on the tolerance limit for warpage but there is some pitting where the combustion has obviously been creeping round the flame ring for a while.

Looks like it would be OK if the new gasket is a slightly different design/size as there is loads of tolerance for gasket size and it is a very small imperfection but don't think its worth risking it.

Should go well with a light skim! It will slightly raise the compression ratio, I've got a stack of heads here if you can't find somewhere to skim it, I'll give my mate a call for you tomorrow as well, he uses a guy that does it for a good price

Head is skimmed and ready to go back on tomorrow once I have picked the gasket kit from Royal Mail and the timing kit from Euro Car Parts tomorrow morning.

Every seal and gasket on the top end and a new timing belt and tensioner should see it through another 60k of blissful motoring. :D

Got the day off so just a nice gentle day if the weather stays nice.

Skimmed head and general state of the kitchen table. (If anyone needs the Renault 5 or Mini Haynes manuals they are on the ebay at some point list))

My little dig at royal mail for not just putting the gasket kit through the letter box!

Should be good fun.
