My first car.

Post by Andrew413 » Mon May 13, 2013 10:47 pm

Hi everyone I'm 18 years old and wanted something a little different instead of a corsa or a Clio so i got this 1988 samurai off my dad who'd been using it off road. All it's really taken to get here is a good clean not long now and it gets mot'd and put on the road (providing it passes!) anyways hope you all like it!

My first car was a volvo 480 1.7 injection. Couldn't afford insurance on the turbo model.

SJs are awesome fun, insurance is usually pretty high unfortunately. I use my Zuk as my daily ride and love it. Done a lot of miles in it this year, many more to do too.

Looks like a fairly tidy example, those bumper mounts are redundant now though. I would cut them off as far back as you can.

I was the same. Had the little hatch backs when I was 17 then 205 gti when I was 18 and built some 2 litre vauxhalls corsas but I still say having a 4x4 is more fun and I'm 30 now

My Zook was my first car but I've driven lots of other cars as well. None of them are half as fun as the SJ bar maybe an Excavator or a Unimog.
There's three ways of doing things:

The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.

I wish I could say my zook was my first car!
I had a 1.4 TD metro, an '87 1.0 ford fiesta a '90 1.1 fiesta and a '96 1.1 escort before my SJ.
Ive also had 3 mk 2 renault clio RTs

I'd never go back to them ever as they are all rubbish! The SJ manages to keep me entertained and in love with it without fail!

That's a fantastic first car Andrew413...far too many 17/18 year olds don't think outside the box and end up in Corsacliofiesta land. In fairness I think any car is cool as its sooo expensive to run a car when you are 17 odd

When I was 17 my first car was a '72 MG Midget and it was relatively expensive to insure as it was a sportscar...£172 fully comp!!

And before one of you cheeky lot make some sarcastic comment - yes it was a nearly 103 years ago!!

Drive safe
Paul

I got my first one when I was 11-12 cant remember from day one ive been playing with it I learnt the basics to drive in it with my father in a feild. However im now 17 and its got too many mods on it to get me insured on it at a reasonable price.
