RIP Ray Manzarek

Post by twiss » Tue May 21, 2013 4:54 pm

So I think this is a great shame that Ray Manzarek has passed away!

The Doors were such an influential group and now with Morrison and Manzarek passed away there will be no more music!

I think some of their music is very powerful and has made a definite imprint on my musical taste!
The End, Riders on the Storm and Light my Fire for example!

I just get the feeling that some of the great musicians are passing away and nobody of the same calibre is replacing them! :(

Take a long holidaaaay
Let your children play
If you give this man a ride
Sweet memory will die
Killer on the road
There's three ways of doing things:

The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.

I remember my first foray into The Doors, watching Apocalypse Now and The End started playing...made my hair stand on end.

That was a long time ago...

It's one of those moments that changes rock forever. Knowing he will never create anything to influence a generation again. Only to be known by his previous creations.
