Looks like it would power the air conditioning unit if it had one.

But it hasn't. I was quite shocked when i noticed it. Made the grey matter think a bit.

Mine only had a single pulley. There was a Suzuki aftermarket A/C system, has it got any 'spare' switches?

I know the Hilux boys go after double pullies like these to fit to their engines when they want to run a supercharger. They're originally (in the case of Hilux's) for the aircon compressor.

Perhaps the engine you have there wasn't originally out of an SJ? It could've been in a car (swift/ignis/vitara/whatever) that had aircon?

EDIT: Wait, is this the G16 engine you've just swapped into one of your SJ's you're showing to us?

Na its on his KJA he was stealing the starter from for the G16.

I'm going with aircon.

Ah, ok. I was getting confussilated.

Still, there were a few Vitara's out there with 1.3's - maybe this is out of one that had aircon. Who really knows what happened to a vehicle before buying it?

There were a few Sidekicks in the US in 89 but I've never heard of a 1.3 Vitara.

I like the supercharger idea though.
