Sorry to hear about the clip, must have been pretty breezy.

Good job :thumbup: on the calipers, look very tidy.

so, got some more done today. managed to get the rear of the chassis sprayed, except the parts I still have to weld. am quite happy with it. the paint I used was slow drying enamel, thinned about 35%, a little too thin I think, but it worked all right

took the gearbox and manifolds of the engine, and lifted engine of the chassis so I can paint it all. will get some pics up later. off to go fishing now :D

two transfer countershaft needle bearings later, and 120 bucks down. what a complete ripoff. they are genuine suzuki, so they should last. hope to get the tbox all put back together tonight, might need one of darell's diagrams though :D I'll dig one out of the stickies I think

I have seen a transfer box guide somewhere. Good work getting the chassis sprayed up. :thumbup:

cheers fella's, I'm quite happy with it too, should have it all sprayed soon.

for those knowledgeable on tbox inner parts, I had this shim popping out, can't remember where from though. it fits around all three input/output shafts, and fits nicely inside the rubber seal at each input/output. am I missing a few, or should there be only one? any help greatly apreciated

That shim looks like it's not original, my bet is that it has been used so that someone can run the wrong type of flange on one of the Tbox outputs.

the shim is used when you run a t-box handbrake, so I found it's home :D

rear drums are at the machine shop to be cut out on the lathe, have cut the caliper mounts to fit over the rear axle. rear axle is back on chassis with all new poly bushes. cracking on.

I knoe if I put my rear disc brake caliper straight up, it will foul on the bumpstop, so people recomend to run them at 45 degree angle. this would cause me to drill the holes in the caliper mounts in the weak parts, so do you lot recon it will be alright to run the calipers horizontally, so that I can drill the holes in the strong parts of the mount?

hopefully will get some pics up when I have finished the brake conversion, with the whole rear end painted, should look good :brows:

so I have cut all my brake parts, drilled the holes, and test fitted one side today. all fits like a glove :D
just got to take it apart, and paint some of the parts with heatproof paint, and make up all my new brakeline. should be quite nice once done
