what do you think is better??
I know I'm a noobie here, but I'm an old hand on hcoc and in charge of south and west yorkshire,is it better that people research crap first and then don't post anything cus u can find information all over the net,or is it better that they ask here and get involved,I know u guys probably get asked the same question weekly, but which would u prefer??

It's nice for people to be involved even if they are repeating questions as at least you get to know them. I think the best way to get started is a good introduction thread and photos!
One of the most common questions is which model Suzuki is best?
And my answer would be - I love my soft top samurai but if I had the choice of any I'd love an lj50, any car with a 2 stroke engine ticks all the boxes for me! - But there are few and far between so id settle for any lj (canvas doors would score extra points) or a tidy 410 (which is what i originally went looking for before i got my samurai) In terms of practicality priorities change I'd probably want a Lwb SJ with fibreglass hard top or a swb samurai/413 commercial van, I'd also accept a diesel commercial vitara - although I wouldn't love it the same as an SJ!

I will answer questions all day if they are well written and structured and not from people who seem like they will just take the info and vanish.
In fact more than once I have driven to members houses who are local to help them straight off the back of a small text eonvetsaton. Think its a Suzuki thing....

Ask anything you want. I don't have as much technical know how as some lads but i get by. The same questions do crop up a lot and most of us can usually find relevant posts to point folk in the right direction.
As Dan say its best for us if the post subject is clear and concise. Try and be as descriptive as possible with problems and please use plain english. Makes it much easier than trying to decypher a cryptic abbreviated post.

Re: what do you think is better??
Another note on this. Whilst there are lots of "how to's" and tech guides about i find it nice to ask about things, even if they have been asked before just to get everyones views and opinions of stuff.
Examples are "is this the safe and accepted way to do it", is it suitable for road use, is it legal. Etc.
Mainly for the modifying tech help as everyones needs are different and you can get everyones views and, in most cases, their experiences of certain modifications or parts.

Re: what do you think is better??
That's good to know,I have been on other forums with various cars and people shout at you with things like "don't you know how to use the search button and why are you asking such a simple question"and it gets disheartening and I don't want to get disheartened with the vitara.
I can tell your a great bunch and I look forward to covering you all in mud, thanks

Quite tough to get disheartened with a Suzuki, they always end up putting a smile on your face!
If it ticks over...leave it
