Vitara Gearbox / Transmission Oil

Post by ScottieJ » Mon Aug 12, 2013 10:37 am

Many People make the mistake of using regular GL-5 in the Vitara gearbox, make sure you don't! It is safe to use in the transfer box though ;) If you can't find GL-4 then there are Yellow metal safe alternatives available.

I'm now wondering if the oil I put in my axles is going to be safe for an ARB. I used the recommended gear oil for SJ axles, but I don't know if it's yellow metal safe, or if ARB's need yellow metal safe oil...

Probably, but I'm going to email ARB to check, better safe than sorry.
