Roof chop, bigger back tyres so its a bit hot rod. Possibly expose the engine a bit.

Will have to see what happens...he's bringing another job over, a 3 door 1973 Range Rover. Needs work he says, I bet. Then when that's done it's a 1982 Ford Fiesta XR2. He does buy some sodding awful cars but he does make money out of them.

Not the rust bug though.

Not so sure about the Strange Rover but I'd quite like to have an go in an XR2. My mum had one, years ago before I came along, that she had fitted coil overs and wider alloys and tyres too.
There's three ways of doing things:

The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.

Big Sigh. He can't sell the sodding thing at it's been taking up space in my garage for 2 weeks now.

He's asked me to sort all the body work over the winter and respray it pearl white.

I can do all this just not sure if I want to, I hate the bloody thing.

We'll see...

Well things have changed a bit...he's offered me a Kawasaki ZXR400, MOT and tax, to do the body work. Off to see it tomorrow. Had a go on a mates ZXR years ago and always wanted one. Might be another build thread lol!

Custom cars are always a gamble - they're a very niche market to sell to.

I mean, look at custom SJ's. Take a half-decent £1000 SJ, add big tyres, SU carb, spring over or lift springs/reverse shackle kit/whatever, uprated shocks, power steering and what do you end up with?

£800 worth of SJ.

Tell him you want the XR2... ;)
