I want to do something similar to this, but with a hidden panel onto which I can mount some switches, in case I ever get line locks fitted (skid steering my SJ should be a hell of a lot of fun!) and other such traction enhancing aids that require switches.

Mine would have space for the CB, but no radio (I'd probably just kill it anyway).
1985 SJ413VX (SJ50V) with SPOA, rear disc brakes, 31x10.5R15 Kaiman Malatesta tyres, an MOT and a lot left to do!

Now one thing they seemed to have a lot of in the US is these:

Cup holders that go into the window slot... maybe some SCUK branded ones would be good!
Although, SJs are bumpy enough so your drink will come out of a cup... so bottles with lids are the best bet... so just keep them on the floor ;)

On a slightly related note I did find that fanta bottles fit perfectly inbetween the seatbelt and the side of the chair ;)

That reminds me my dads old company bought a whole load of them for the company vehicles only to find out that the Renault traffic door card/panel was alot wider then the bit were it hooks on to so there soon went in the bin! :lol:

Ye thats what it used to look like so I just cut the top of and screwed it to the dash :)


I do a lot of road driving so this is ideal :)
