My new motor, even more sensible!

Post by Jordi » Thu Feb 06, 2014 10:35 pm

The Seat Exeo has now gone in favour of something even more sensible / cheaper. It was a really nice car. Probably one of the best I've owned but being part of the VW group nothing was even reasonably priced. It was 4yrs old and out of warranty.

If anyone is looking to buy one can't rate it highly enough, shame I couldn't find another one at the.right spec / price.

So I got this

Hyundai i30 1.6d Bluedrive.

Road tax £0 per annum, Mpg is currently 48 around town. Full multimedia bluetooth for phone and music. 5yrs warranty (like I'll keep it that long). All the usual spec, cruise con, park sensors, an adjustable steering sensor (it's a super economical diesel, but has a sports steering setting? You figure it out). 3yrs servicing.

Not a Seat but surprisingly a really nice car to drive. Lots of space inside, comfortable, seems well built and I actually really do like it which surprised me.

It's mainly for the wife to trundle around town, go to work / parents / shopping but when I drive it feels big enough and.comfortable enough for longer journeys.

I've never owned a Hyundai how do you find it? my current economical run around is my 11year old clio diesel 55-60mpg, but it is getting old now and I'm thinking of replacing it, I was just going to replace it with another newer clio but this Hyundai is food for thought,

Only had it since Friday but I'm impressed. It's goes well (for what it is). The Exeo was a 4 door saloon (same as Audi A4) this feels bigger inside. More leg room, more head room, more storage space. I spoke to the wife on the bluetooth hands free and it's clearer and sounds better.

Reviews genuinely say 70mpg on motorways and it is doing 48 around town. Free road tax is a bonus too.

I wouldn't say.it feels any more plasticy, there's no nasty noises or rattles. Got the pushchair and shopping in the boot.

I'd certainly say go have a look bud.
