Balls

Post by jim tylee » Thu Apr 17, 2014 6:10 pm

Having over the years always cleaned and spread a thin layer of silicon grease to the front large steering balls ....this time i have sprayed them with PTFE fluid....never have been confident that its a good idea as it probably attracts dust etc..wonder what others put on their Balls ?????

I've heard of people waxing them but generally I just let the hair grow, then when I'm in the shower just a quick wash with a bit of soap and they are as good as new

I go commando, i.e. with nothing on. :S

The felt wiper and the rubber seal should keep them clean and sound.

I've left my balls alone for a very long time, occasionally they get a light smear of CV grease from inside the knuckle but mostly they get covered from a quick drive up the dirt track

That's what happens when you use them a lot! I'd have though mine would be a little rusty from lack of use, but when you get married, you don't get the same amount of time to play with them!
