Finally got my finger out and started on the anus again.

Began by undersealing it all with the schuts gun.
Then started to seal up the back end.
Still needs finishing off, but at least it's water tight (Apart from the lack of window), and almost painted now.




And a friend made me a set of galv-steel door-cards.

Finished painting it today, and stuck a few blue bits on it to break up the yellow






And re-mounted the spare on the rear. I moved the carrier to the centre of the tailgate so the lights still fit.




Need to source a windscreen. I dont really want glass in the rear, would rather perspex, or similar, but need a rear glass to make a template from, as you can see from the photo, the wood is miles too small. haha!

Had a spare hour this afternoon so I stuck a couple of straps on the engine and hoisted it in.
Gearbox mount went straight on, but both engine mounts are a million miles away.
The passenger side one is close, but it's just too far forward.
The driver side one, is literally no where near. Not only do I not even have a bracket which bolts to the engine (I left the swift ones behind when I took the engine out), the mount that does bolt up (on 2 of the 3 holes) sits about 4" low of the ladder chassis.

Will have to mess around with it at the weekend.

Left work at 3pm today, so had a good few hours before the Mrs gets home from work.
Started mocking up where the engine mounts need to be. I think I've got it about right. Will spend tomorrow boxing them in with steel to reinforce them, and then start getting the rest of the running gear on.













Bonnet closes over the carb too, which is good.
Going to get a 90 degree silicone elbow to push on then build it into a snorkel with inline airbox.

Was going to box the mounts in today, but decided to sort the garage out instead as it was a tip!
Then whacked a perspex sheet in the rear window. I cut it well bigger than the piece of plywood, and it STILL came up too small! Stuck a thick bead of silicone around it (It's white, but not too bothered), and it's sealed. Hopefully it'll be strong enough as I could only get hold of 2mm stuff, really wanted 4mm.




Chucked the tread plate back on the bonnet, and stuck some fog lights in the front bumper




Not got any pictures of it, but I fitted the gear stick in too. Used the old 410 stick as it had a better bush on it, and fitted a new bolt into the housing. I had some Torx bolts which had a nice pointed end on them, feels really plush now, rather than a piece of rope with a cueball on the end of it.

Been getting busy on the truck.

Engine mounts have been tweaked, engine sits better now, just need to finish boxing the mounts in for added strength.
Fitted transfer box up, and small prop, all lines up okay.
Started adding on some of the Tread-plate ally trim.
Bolted roll cage down.

Seats are all bolted in along with the harnesses.

I had to make up a bracket for the clutch cable to clamp into, as the Swift engine mount I used didn't have the mount on the bottom of it.

Few other bits and pieces along the way.


I need to pick the brains of someone with a rear mounted rad. I can't see an easy way to route the pipe work. Would be nice to see how others have done it.
