terios v vitara

Post by shredder » Tue Aug 12, 2014 7:51 pm

had a bit of an oops on friday and wrote off my van  so i spotted a wee terios for sale picked it up the night and was surprised it is so much nippier than the vitara is this normal? or is my vit a slug? i would have thought a 1.3 v 1.6 would be the other way round, i imagine the daihatsu may be lighter? as it has no separate chassis but even so!

Don't know your exact model, so looking at 70 to 90bhp in the Vit, 85 in the Terios. But with the size and weight difference I'd expect the Terios to be nippier, even on paper!

The Vit probably wins on torque though, more pull and better up at pace.

A mate bought a Terios years ago for a whopping £300, with a new MOT. It was bloody awful.
If it ticks over...leave it

The later 1.5 is much more refined.
Still looking for Buckeye road.
