Gearbox/clutch

Post by stevenkinsella » Fri Sep 26, 2014 12:38 pm

Tried to move the SJ last night, went into gear just fine but it wouldn't move, transfer box was in 2WD, but I could be in gear, engine running and take my foot off the clutch and it wouldn't stall or go anywhere, any ideas?

So people are aware this is a sudden change, not progessional, clutch has plenty of life in it, and was all working on Sunday with a hard days off roading.

have you tried it in 4wd? maybe the trans box has slipped into neutral or something? or maybe gear linkage is broken so your not really in gear? does it crunch the gears if you try and put it in gear without the clutch (yes would mean clutch is working as u can get it into gear with the clutch down)

Or maybe the rear prop is broken/slipping?

yea put it in 4WD, dont drive anywhere as you will get transmission wind up, just come of the clutch and see if you have forward movement, if you do, knock the front hubs onto free and just drive everywhere in 4L lol, seriously though see if you have anything in 4wd

Check the stick is still ok, I had real problems putting it back in. You need to make that red plate removable
