Re: turbo lag
Improve it or reduce it?

Re: turbo lag
at junction it takes a few seconds be it kicks in or is that normol
Re: turbo lag
surely the only way to reduce lag (asuming everything is working) is to move the turbo closer to the exhaust ports?

Re: turbo lag
Smaller turbo would also do it, or a variable geometry turbo.

There's three ways of doing things:
The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.

Re: turbo lag
dual turbo setup, one small turbo, and one big one would also do it. but the "problem" you are referring to is just normal. it will always take a little bit to spool up the turbo, it's simply how they work
It's not a question of how much you spend on your suzuki, but when your money will run out

Re: turbo lag
Not really, Toyota fitted a variable vein geometry turbo to my Yaris. A bit of research and you can probably find a suitable sized one from another vehicle somewhere.Edweird wrote:Smaller turbo would also do it, or a variable geometry turbo, but now we're entering supercar type gear.
Most modern TD engines have them now, so depending on the age of his vehicle, he may already have one.
If not, the turbo on a more modern Zuk TD (I think that the modern ones are 1.9, so maybe he doesn't) are probably VGT/VTG turbos, and may even be a bolt on swap.
